IMPORTANT PUBLIC INFORMATION
Please be advised that blasting does occur on a regular basis on Quadra Island. Often it occurs to facilitate the building of roads in the more northern areas of the Island; but, it is also used in residential areas to improve site locations etc. Please read and familiarize yourself with the following important safety information and share it with members of your family. This will help to everyone to be safe when it comes to blasting.
Watch for:
Signs / Workers marking all access points to blasting locations
Listen for Blasting Signals:
Blaster sounds 12 signals, 1 second apart.
Blaster waits 2 minutes.
Blaster fires shot.
Blaster sounds 15 second signal for all clear.
