Klahoose Multi Centre on Cortes Island was designed by Merrick Architecture and built by prime contractor Ledcor Group out of Vancouver. They contracted us to do the precision blasting required for the construction. Included were trenches for utilities, a mechanical room, and the production blasting for the basement of this sustainable and low environmental-impact building.
The surrounding rock was to become weight bearing for the building foundations and could not be damaged and so careful planning and pre shearing of the rock was needed.
